Julington Creek Golf Club

“As a first-time superintendent, it is difficult to trust the products that the former employees were using, especially if they weren't having success. Earth Medicine was on property when I first came to Julington Creek. It took me a few weeks to gather a better understanding of what I was up against and how to best utilize the resources that I inherited. We would spike/vent and spread Earth Medicine on a weekly basis. I learned about Earth Medicine working with Bulk Aggregate, and I could get it blended in with my topdressing sand. Gamechanger. Through this process, my first growing season we had tremendous success filling in these areas, having consistent putting surfaces across all greens, which is something that could not have been said for quite some time at Julington Creek. The renovation done before my arrival had gone awry and left me quite the predicament, forgetting everything I had ever learned and starting from scratch.  We have been mainly using Earth Medicine and Plant Foods exclusively for almost 2 years now, and we have loved the results.

As you can imagine, traditional core aerification is not something in my arsenal. I have to be creative in how I manage my greens by building OM and retaining nutrients. I look forward to a VGR application of the greens this summer, creating organic channels, instead of the normal sand channels. Coupled with 90/10 mix, SEA-E-C and EM will be extremely beneficial to building OM in my greens.

I would highly recommend this product to anyone having trouble with filling in bare areas, high traffic areas, range tee/par 3 divots or as a preplant before sodding or sprigging. The photos speak for themselves, but if you would like to see it first hand, I urge you to come to Julington Creek and see it for yourself! “
