The Earth Medicine Difference .

Earth Medicine is specially designed to be blended with sand for divot mixes or greens top dressing. It can also be used on fairways, seeding projects or for new and existing sod installation projects using tradition fertilizer application equipment.

Greens Grade.

Our EM Micro Pellet is designed for Greens sand topdressing blends as well as for new greens installations. Use our EM Micro Pellets for all your greens trouble areas.

Fairways & Sod Grade.

Our EM Stage 1 is our granular microbial fertilizer that releases pure beneficial biology into your soils before or after you install sod or mix into your sand seed blend for divot mixes. This grade is great for fairway application spreading, treating hot spots or fairy ring areas.

Using Fungicides?

If you have applied Fungicides recently, hold off applying Earth Medicine, or any natural microbial products for at least 8 weeks to ensure the fungicides to not kill the beneficial microbes.

The Problem.

Soil and turf needs are at the forefront of any golf course.

On average, an 18 hole golf course has 74 to 100 acres of fairways and 6-7 acres of greens and tees.

All this manicured and mowed green space requires care and attention directed at the problems that arise specific to the golf course. These issues may include soil compaction, which causes a low oxygen situation in the soil due to the oxygen containing pore spaces in-between the soil particles getting smaller and smaller as the soil compacts tightly together.

Soil compaction leads to increased water runoff and decreases the soil and turfs ability to absorb and retain the water for future needs. Dead patches of grass or irregular growth occurs in areas of low soil biology. High traffic areas are subject to dying grass, sparse grass and over compaction of grass root systems. Depletion of soil biology and nutrients occurs over time as the grasses draw upon the soil for nutrients and energy.

Combatting various pests, turf diseases and weeds is an ongoing battle on most golf courses. Maintaining golf green and tee smoothness while repairing divots is an area that requires specific action to be taken to prevent scars, lumps and dead patches.

There are two evils to growing grass: watering too much and using too much nitrogen. If you have a good microbial base in the soil, these conditions can be controlled

The Solution.

The Earth Medicine Mirco pellet lessens soil compaction by improving soil pore space which increases soil oxygenation.

The Earth Medicine Micro Pellet offers a naturally occurring slow release NPK at a 1:1:4 ratio and the microbial life helps to release existing trapped Nitrogen within the soil from previous chemical fertilizer and It will improve soil biology, overall plant health, resistance to disease and pests, and tolerance to dry conditions.

The Earth Medicine Micro Pellet’s pin-head size is too small to impede ball performance on the greens yet will stay where you apply it until watered or worked into the turf.

The pellet is not hydrophobic when compared to loose screened compost. Improve Divot healing will be a result of adding a small amount of micro pellets between the replaced sod divot and the soil or sand surface. The available biology will stimulate the rejoining of grass roots to the soil in a responsive and timely manner.

Improved overall turf health and well healed divots will result in lessening the need for a complete green rip-up and re-do. Using Earth Medicine Micro Pellets for all turf repairs will result in a quicker response from the turf in its ability to heal or re-green.

A big reason superintendents are battling soil problems is because their courses contain too much sand. The sand has inorganic salts that rob water from the plant and kill organisms in the soil. The solution is to use a microbial-based amendment so that it can release more generations of organisms—bacteria, fungi, protozoa, and nematodes—into the soil to foster a constant inoculum of microorganisms that will build soil structure deeper and deeper.

FAQs

When should the product be applied?

Product can be applied in the spring and through out the growing season. Talk to us about your top dressing blends or re-seeding projects.

Can this product be stored during the off season?

Yes, the product can be stored during the winter months. The microbial life is shelf stable and will remain active as long as it is kept dry in a climate controlled building. Product should also be kept out of direct sunlight during the summer months as well. The microbial life can become damaged if they are left baking in the sun.

Is your product tested for heavy metals?

Yes, Earth Medicine products have been tested by IAS Laboratories. Our products do not contain heavy metals or pathogens.
